Jun 4th, 2003 - Jun 9th, 2003

This workshop looked at freshwater resources in the western U.S., particularly the similarities and differences between the Columbia and Colorado River systems, to explore how climate risk assessment (and adaptation) can be conducted at a regional scale. Topics considered included assessment of previous freshwater programs, adaptive management, social equity, vulnerability of different societal sectors, and prediction and preparedness for extreme events such as droughts or floods.

Keywords: water; climate change and variability; adaptation; human impacts
