Workshop

Navigating the Clean Energy Transition in a Changing Climate

calendar
Sep 14th, 2021 - Sep 15th, 2021
location
Virtual Workshop

This workshop will convene an array of practitioners and scientists to discuss the current state of the science, and how climate change information can be used more effectively in decision making and practice. Participants will provide perspectives to date on this effort, share challenges and potential solutions, and discuss how efforts to continually connect ongoing research and ever-adapting applications can be sustained. Specific objectives include:

  • Placing the challenges of increasing climate resilience of electric power systems in the broader context of deep decarbonization
  • Identifying what climate change information is appropriate for electric system planning amid increasing droughts, storms, heat waves, and wildfires
  • Creating dialogue that supports needed collaborations between electric sector planners and the climate research community
