Andreas Krause

I am a vegetation modeller studying ecosystem responses to climate and land-use change. My research focuses on vegetation dynamics, disturbance processes, land-based climate mitigation, and ecosystem services. Currently, I lead a project investigating the impacts of lightning-induced tree mortality on forests under present-day and future lightning activity, with the aim of improving our understanding of lightning as a forest disturbance agent and its implications for forest dynamics, carbon storage, and ecosystem resilience under climate change.
