Saiful Islam received his PhD in Agricultural Economics from University of Bonn, Germany in 2015 and holds a double Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics (Rural development) from Humboldt University of Berlin and Gent University of Belgium. He was an IMMANA Fellow at Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, Tufts University, Boston, USA and Postdoc fellow/senior researcher at Center for Development Research (ZEF), University of Bonn, Germany. He is currently a Professor at the Department of Agricultural Economics, Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymensingh, Bangladesh where he is teaching and doing agricultural and development economics related research since 2006. His research interests are agriculture-food security-nutrition nexus, climate change, social protection and gender. Saiful has also widely involved in a range of research projects and consultancy works and designing, supervision and evaluation of development projects with IFPRI, World Fish, CIP, AVRDC, IFAD, ADB, World Bank, GCA, FAO, Center for Development Research (ZEF), Germany, Cornell University, Tufts University and Purdue University, USA. He has worked in Germany, Belgium, Kyrgyzstan, Kenya and extensively in Bangladesh.
