Dr. Nika Larian is a nutritional scientist with 10 years of experience working in nutrition, including 3 years in the USAID Center for Nutrition focusing on food safety, food security, and food loss and waste. She is the Co-Chair of the Food Safety Technical Working Group of the Global Nutrition Coordination Plan (GNCP) and the Activity Manager for the Feed the Future food safety program EatSafe. She produces the USAID Kitchen Sink Food Loss and Waste Podcast. Previously, Dr. Larian was a AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow in the USAID Food Safety Division. She earned her Ph.D. in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Kentucky, where she studied wasting during sepsis and the effect of environmental pollutants on human health.
