Temperature and relative humidity sensors

The vertical array of temperature and relative humidity sensors located at each meter along the left-hand side of the 20-meter tower.

Temperature and relative humidity sensors measure air temperature and humidity in the air. These instruments are protected by shields (ventilated plastic housing) to prevent  the sun from directly influencing the instrument readings.

Number deployed on SOS Project: 20

Make/model used on SOS Project: Sensirion SHT85

SOS Project Principal Investigator Jessica Lundquist, a professor in Civil & Environmental Engineering at University of Washington, describes the temperature and relative humidity sensors placed along a vertical profile on the towers at the SOS Project Kettle Ponds study site.
