Duane Froese is a Professor at the University of Alberta and Director of the Permafrost Archives and Cryosphere Sciences (PACS) Laboratory. His research examines permafrost history, ground ice distribution, and thaw-driven landscape change across northwestern Canada, working closely with Indigenous partners and territorial geological surveys in the Mackenzie Valley and Yukon.
