Bethany Sutherland

As a postdoctoral researcher At Woodwell Climate Research Center, my research focuses on the rapidly warming Arctic, specifically quantifying how shifting greenhouse gas emissions impact the region's atmospheric energy balance. I hold a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science from North Carolina State University where my research focused on the radiative impact of aerosols. Before my doctoral work, I was a post-master’s research associate at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. I also hold an M.S. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Washington and a B.S. in Physics from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology.
