Dr. Edmund Ilimoan Yamba is a Senior Lecturer and Research Scientist in the Department of
Meteorology and Climate Science at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology
(KNUST), Ghana. His expertise spans climate-sensitive health modeling, biometeorology,
bioclimatology, biostatistics, and data science. Dr. Yamba’s research focuses on how climate
variability and change influence the transmission of infectious diseases, heat-related illnesses, and air pollution impacts. He has extensive experience in university teaching, curriculum development,
scientific computing, and research project management. His technical skills include programming in FORTRAN, Python, R, and Shell scripting, and he is proficient in Linux-based systems and LaTeX
for scientific writing. Dr. Yamba is currently a Co-Investigator on several multidisciplinary projects
addressing climate and public health challenges, including AI-driven disease surveillance, climate-
health cohort development in Ghana, and mHealth solutions for underserved communities. He serves as the Department’s Examination Officer and Postgraduate Program's Coordinator. He is committed to mentoring future scientists and fostering impactful collaborations in climate science and global health.
