Dr Mangaliso John Gondwe is a senior research scholar at the University of Botswana’s Okavango Research Institute located in Maun, at the southern end of the Okavango Delta, the 1000th UNESCO World Heritage site, Botswana. His research combines fields of aquatic ecology, limnology and biogeochemistry to assess effects of multiple stressors including climate change on lakes and wetlands in southern Africa. His current research interests focus on greenhouse gas fluxes from the poorly studied Okavango Delta using Eddy Covariance systems. These studies are done in collaboration with researchers from the Stanford University, UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology (UKCEH), and other institutions across the globe.
