I am a professor of terrestrial ecology and global change modeling at the University of Alaska Fairbanks with a joint appointment between the Institute of Arctic Biology and the Department of Biology and Wildlife. My research focuses on climate feedbacks in terrestrial arctic and boreal ecosystems. This encompasses long-term field measurements, including the management of a network of eddy covariance flux towers across Arctic and boreal Alaska. My research also includes terrestrial ecosystem simulation modeling, with a focus on the development of ecosystem models optimized for high-latitude permafrost regions.
