Alexandra Konings

Alexandra 'Alex' Konings is an associate professor in the Department of Earth System Science (and, by courtesy, in the Department of Geophysics) at Stanford University. Her research is focused on interactions between the global carbon and water cycles, especially as related to plant hydraulics and to the effects of small-scale trait variability on regional-scale ecosystem behavior. To study these topics, she develops and uses remote sensing algorithms and physical models. She received the AGU Global Environmental Change Early Career Award in 2021 and an Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship in 2023.
