David Benson

I am a program analyst at NOAA’s Climate Program Office with the Modeling, Analysis, Prediction and Projections (MAPP) program. I hold a PhD in climate dynamics from George Mason University, where I specialized in climate predictability and land surface model improvement. My work focuses on enhancing climate models and providing authoritative climate information for explaining extremes, understanding marine ecosystems, and developing forward-looking projections. I am passionate about supporting research that delivers fit-for-purpose climate information and transitioning it into practical applications.
