Thomas Dabolt

Thomas (Tod) Dabolt is the distinguished Chief Data Officer and Geospatial Information Officer at the U.S. Department of the Interior. With a commendable 27 years of federal service, Mr. Dabolt has been a pivotal figure in enhancing data transparency and accessibility within the department. His tenure at the Department of the Interior began in 2016 as the Geospatial Information Officer, and he ascended to the role of Chief Data Officer in 2019. Prior to his current position, he contributed significantly to the Environmental Protection Agency’s water quality monitoring and assessment program, leveraging his geospatial expertise to inform public policy decision-making. A bridge-builder between IT, geospatial communities, and program leaders, Mr. Dabolt holds a master’s degree in Environmental Management from Duke University and a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from SUNY Plattsburgh
