"Nimo is an Engagement Director at Busara Center overseeing the rural livelihoods portfolio with a focus on projects addressing food system resilience and climate risk management. She has over 10 years of experience and has honed her skills in result-driven program management, product development in emerging markets and downscaling of agricultural knowledge. She is experienced in working directly with governmental institutions, donors, agribusiness and is seasoned in the management of interdisciplinary professional teams.
Her immediate past role included being a core member of a team that pioneered an agricultural social enterprise that remains a leader in the field of agricultural risk management in Africa. In her role, she provided strategic oversight and insightful leadership in positioning the start-up. She played a pivotal role in expanding the start-up’s operations in Rwanda in 2012 and led the exercise for the Tanzania market in 2014. At Busara, Wairimu focusses on programs that facilitate bridging the adoption and retained usage of agriculture livelihoods innovations and rural community engagement.
Nimo, a DAAD 2008-2009 fellow, holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Technology from the University of Nairobi."
