Vanessa Andreotti

I am the incoming Dean of the Faculty of Education at UVic and the interim Director of the Peter Wall Institute for Advanced (transdisciplinary) Studies. I am also a former CRC in Race, Inequalities and Global Change and David Lam Chair in Multicultural Education. I am one of the co-founders of the Gesturing Towards Decolonial Futures Arts/Research collective. The work of the collective combines ontological critiques of modernity/coloniality (violence and unsustainabilty of current systems) , critical systems/complexity theories, postcolonial and poststructuralist insights (about language/reality) and decolonial cultural psychoanalysis in its research and approach to educational and artistic inquiry.
