Coastal Training Program Coordinator
Kristen is an interdisciplinary social scientist, leading the Coastal Training Program since 2009 in efforts that consider the human dimension in coastal management. Being situated in the U.S.-Mexico border region has provided Kristen with a unique perspective on the challenges of – and opportunity for – collaboration and boundary spanning in climate change adaptation and inspires her research on psychosocial resilience. She earned a M.A. in Marine Affairs & Policy from the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science and a Ph.D. in Social Ecology from the University of California Irvine.
