I am a Senior Research Scientist in the Climate Modeling group at the Allen Institute for AI. My current interests are in the use of machine learning for atmospheric sub-grid parameterization and online bias correction in climate models. Previously I was a NOAA Climate & Global Change postdoctoral fellow at the University of Washington where I studied coupling between cloud radiative effects and the large-scale circulation, and tropical-extratropical interactions under climate change. I received a PhD from the University of Toronto in 2016 with a thesis on stratosphere-troposphere coupling. I am motivated to improve climate models on timescales from subseasonal to centennial.
