Michael Gallagher is an observationalist, having participated in field campaigns across the Arctic. His science research is centered around studying the atmosphere in the Arctic and its central role in the coupled climate system. This includes the following research topics:
atmospheric dynamics
turbulence, clouds, radiation, and surface energy budget
applied machine learning and computational algorithms
ground and space based remote sensing of the atmosphere
