Crystal Raymond is a climate adaptation specialist with the Climate Impacts Group (CIG) at the University of Washington. She has worked on climate adaptation and impacts for over 10 years and as both a researcher and in the public sector. Currently, she works on climate resilience for forests, wildfires, and water resources of the Pacific Northwest. Previously she worked on climate adaptation planning with US Forest Service, National Park Service and Seattle City Light, Seattle’s municipal hydropower utility. Before working on climate adaptation, she conducted research on forest ecosystems and wildfires in the Northwest and has a PhD in forest ecology from the University of Washington.
