Richard's research interests include climate science and insurance risk, the global carbon cycle and carbon isotopes, and the dynamics of organic matter remineralization and particle cycling. In his work, he seeks to bridge the gap between climate science and the business community. In addition to his work with RPI, Richard investigates the development of improved tools for estimating hurricane landfall probabilities and for assessing seasonal variations in temperature anomalies.
