James Todd is the Program Manager for the Climate Variability and Predictability Program and the NOAA Climate and Global Change Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. He received a Ph.D. in Chemical Oceanography from the Department of Oceanography, Old Dominion University (Norfolk, VA) in 1984, was a Research Assistant Professor at the Department of Geological Sciences, University of South Carolina from 1984-1988 and joined NOAA's Office of Global Programs in 1989. Jim currently serves on interagency working groups for the U.S. Climate Variability and Predictability (CLIVAR) and U.S. Climate Change Science Program's (Climate Variability and Change). His research interests include climate variability and predictability (including abrupt climate change and extreme events), ocean observations and paleoclimatology.
