Abby Sullivan is an Environmental Scientist at the Philadelphia Water Department (PWD) where she works on the Climate Change Adaptation Program. She leads the future coastal flood risk analyses and assessments for the Department and coordinates with other departments and stakeholders in the city and region to develop sea level rise adaptation solutions. As Chair of the Water Utility Climate Alliance Sea Level Rise Committee, she leads a project to develop a “Field Guide” to sea level rise adaptation planning for the water sector with a focus on overcoming barriers to implementation. Abby previously worked on public outreach and green stormwater infrastructure planning for PWD’s Green City, Clean Waters program. Abby has a Master’s degree in water resource management from the University of Akureyri in Iceland where she focused on coastal and marine environments. She enjoys strong coffee, bad puns, rainy days, playing soccer and spending time with her one-year old son, Silas.
