Biography
Dr. Heïdi Sevestre is a glaciologist and winner of the inaugural Shackleton Medal for the Protection of the Polar Regions. Dr. Sevestre is a member of AMAP secretariat, the Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Programme, one of the working groups to the Arctic Council. She teaches glaciology at the University Center in Svalbard. Dr. Sevestre is a Fellow International to The Explorers Club and has led numerous polar and high mountain expeditions from the Andes to the Himalayas. Today, through her work, she aims to make science more accessible to all, from youth to decision makers.
