Biography
Peter Schultz has three decades of experience in climate science, adaptation, management, and communication. At ICF, he analyzes the impacts of climate change on a broad array of sectors and helps clients prepare for the threats and opportunities presented by climate change. His ongoing work includes risk assessment and tool development to support climate risk management, tailored to client needs. The sectors upon which he has focused include energy, health, transportation, defense, and international development. He helps organizations and governments at all scales understand and address the risks posed by climate change, with his clients ranging from multi-national companies to national and local governments. His prior research was in the fields of climate and carbon cycle modeling, the economics of climate change, and remote sensing of vegetation. He played a leadership role in the interagency program responsible for integrating federal climate science, where he supported federal strategic planning. Dr. Schultz has led or contributed to the framing and development of dozens of climate change assessments at the National Research Council, U.S. Global Change Research Program (USGCRP), and ICF. He recently served as an author of the U.S. National Climate Assessment (NCA).
