Biography
Dr. Abhishek Chaudhary is an Assistant Professor at Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur in India since December 2018. Previously he was a postdoctoral researcher at Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), Zurich. He is involved in analyzing nutritional and environmental profile of current global diets as well as designing alternative scenarios to improve food sustainability outcomes. Dr. Chaudhary obtained his Ph.D in Environmental Engineering from ETH Zurich, Switzerland in 2015; his Master of Science (M.S) in Environmental Engineering from University of Cincinnati, USA in 2010 and B.Tech in Civil Engineering from IIT Roorkee, India in 2007. In between, he worked as an Environmental Engineer at United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in Cincinnati from 2010-2012. Dr. Chaudhary is interested in quantifying environmental impacts of human consumption and individual commodities from a life cycle assessment (LCA) perspective. This includes consideration of multiple environmental categories (climate change, biodiversity loss, land degradation, water scarcity etc.) as well as ‘cradle to grave’ emissions associated with life cycle of the product.
