AGCI Workshop Participation
October 09, 2016 to October 14, 2016
In Fall 2016, I will receive my PhD in Atmospheric Sciences where my research has focused on quantitative skill assessment of global climate models. My expertise lies in understanding the capabilities of climate models, the reliability of their projections, and how they can be used for planning and decision making in a risk management or adaptation planning context. As a principal collaborator on a recent Climate Assessment for the Southwest (CLIMAS, a NOAA regional integrated science assessment team) project, I have worked with stakeholders to successfully co-produce climate knowledge and increase business resiliency to climate change. I also have 5+ years experience as an environmental scientist working to help conserve wetlands, waterways, and forests during the process of land development.
AGCI has become an intellectual proving ground, a ferment for new ideas and concepts, and a place where the different disciplines actually talk, and progress. Hal Harvey
