Lisa’s research specialty is adaptation and socio-cultural vulnerability to climate change and natural hazards. Lisa is a Research Associate with the Overseas Development Institute in London and an Associate with Stockholm Environment Institute, where she was Senior Scientist in the Bangkok office, and later in the Davis office, from 2008-2013. Lisa was a Lead Author in the IPCC Special Report on Extreme Events (2012) and in Working Group 2 of the Fifth Assessment Report (2014). She was recently co-editor of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent’s annual World Disasters Report (2014), which focussed on Culture and Risk. Her most recent co-edited book, published in early 2015, is 'Cultures and Disasters: Understanding Cultural Framings in Disaster Risk Reduction.
