Alex is the co-Director of the Climate Impacts Group at the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies (NASA GISS) where he focuses on making climate information useful for applications across a number of sectors. He is the Climate Team Leader and Science Coordinator for the Agricultural Model Intercomparison and Improvement Project (AgMIP) and serves on the Steering Committee for the Analysis, Integration and Modeling of the Earth System (AIMES) global research project. Alex is also a Coordinating Lead Author for the IPCC Working Group I (Chapter 12 on climate information) and a member of the IPCC Synthesis Report Core Writing Team. He also leads the Fostering Systems Thinking Working Group for the UNDRR Global Risk Assessment Framework.
