AGCI Workshop Participation
September 30, 2009 to October 04, 2009
Philip grew up in Maryland on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay. At an early age he became keenly aware of the ecological landscape and the pollution that damages this culturally and ecologically-rich region. His pursuit of a graduate degree is inspired by both his desire to understand the interworkings of ecosystems and to apply this knowledge to the benefit of ecological and human health and equity. His core research interests focus on the role of nutrient availabiliy in shaping ecological dynamics. He is currently a Ph.D. student under the advisorship of Alan Townsend at CU-Boulder's EBIO and INSTAAR.
AGCI has become an intellectual proving ground, a ferment for new ideas and concepts, and a place where the different disciplines actually talk, and progress. Hal Harvey
