Biography
As Principal Engineer with the California Dept. of Water resources, Dr. Chung is primarily responsible for conducting engineering analyses that support planning and management of water facilities in the State of California. He holds B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Civil Engineering, with expertise in Water Resources Systems Analysis, Hydraulics and Water Quality Modeling of Estuary, Surface and Sub-surface Hydrology, Stochastic Hydrology, Numerical Techniques applied to Groundwater Hydrology, Open Channel Hydraulics, Tidal Hydrodynamics, Drinking Water Quality. Dr. Chung has published over 50 papers and numerous reports on hydrology, hydraulics, water quality, groundwater hydrology, water management, and climate change. He is an active member of American Society of Civil Engineers and Associate Editor for the Journal of Water Resources Planning and Management. Dr. Chung also serves as a UN consultant. He helped the Central Government of Mexico establish climate change response plan in December 2007. In June 2008, he was an invited lecturer in Executive Council of World Meteorological Organization of the United Nation in Geneva, Switzerland.
