AGCI Workshop Participation
July 09, 2005 to July 15, 2005
Richard A. Kerr has covered the Earth and planetary sciences (and a bit of paleontology) since 1977 at Science. He went there from the University of Rhode Island a week after successfully defending his dissertation on the humics in seawater. The frustrations of trying to understand such gunk were enough to drive him into journalism, where the breadth of an education in oceanography has served him well.
AGCI has become an intellectual proving ground, a ferment for new ideas and concepts, and a place where the different disciplines actually talk, and progress. Hal Harvey
