Harold's primary research interests include: forecast verification, the use of numerical models in weather forecasting, the modeling and forecasting of hazardous weather associated with thunderstorms, the use of probabilistic concepts applied to problems of weather forecasting, the verification of weather forecasts, and the environmental conditions associated with hazardous thunderstorms. As an educator, Harold teaches a course on forecast evaluation at the University of Oklahoma.
