Forest Health Index

AGCI is helping the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies to develop an index on forest health for the Roaring Fork Valley. The Forest Health Index (FHI) is a resource designed to identify and communicate important trends in our forest relative to what are considered “normal” or “healthy” levels determined by comparison to a previous time period or in relation to common health or safety standards. The index serves as a form of outreach to resource managers, stakeholders, and the public in order to aid in developing effective strategies to improve and sustain forest health in the Roaring Fork Valley for current and future generations. The first year's Forest Health Index is now available online at: http://www.foresthealthindex.org.
