Dr. Bennett is an Assistant Professor in the School of the Environment and the Department Natural Resource Sciences at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. She graduated cum laude from Oberlin College with a joint degree in Environmental Studies and Biology. She completed an MSc in 1999 and a PhD in 2001 (both under the supervision of Dr. Steve Carpenter, U. Wisconsin). Her postdoctoral work involved helping coordinate the Scenarios Working Group of Millennium Ecosystem Assessment, an international integrated assessment of ecosystem services and human well-being. Her current research focus is on provision of multiple ecosystem services across landscapes and on large scale phosphorus cycling. She uses the interactions between agricultural production and water quality as a model system with the goal of understanding relationships among provision of ecosystem services and improving management of these and other ecosystem services.
