Organization of Aspen Global Change Institute
- AGCI has a Board of Directors and an Advisory Board of scientists and educators.
- The Board of Directors’ focus is on the overall operations and strategic plans. The Board of Advisors’ focus is the educational and scientific programs.
- AGCI organizes its operations around the interdisciplinary meetings held in the summer. They serve as a source of new content each year that is shared with the federal agencies of the US Global Change Research Program in briefings held after the summer sessions, in publications such as Elements of Change which provide summaries of the summer sessions by the session chairs and include working group reports, and summaries of each participants recent research relevant to the theme of the meeting.
- The summer sessions also serve as a source for a videotape (contact us for more info) archive representing all the discussions and presentations of the institute since its founding. These videotapes include the Walter Orr Roberts public lecture series and the more technical discussions during the interdisciplinary meetings. The summer program also serves as a source of new material on topics in global change for educators. AGCI develops teacher workshops and publishes educational material based on the content of the summer science program.
