Climate Change and Aspen: An Assessment of Potential Impacts and Responses

As part of the Canary Initiative, AGCI contracted with the City of Aspen in May 2005 to author a study to determine the likely consequences of global warming on the City of Aspen.

The report focuses on three major areas:

  1. Changing climate trends and projections in Aspen and the surrounding area.
  2. Socioeconomic impacts of climate change on the ski industry and, by extension, the entire local economy.
  3. Ecological impacts of climate change on the Roaring Fork Valley.
